Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, or mHBOT is the medical use of oxygen in a pressurized environment at a level higher than 1 atmosphere absolute (ATA). Increased pressure allows for oxygen to dissolve and saturate more readily into our blood plasma, cerebrospinal fluid, synovial fluid and all liquids within our body (Henry's Law of Gases). This is independent of Red Blood Cell (Erythrocyte) counts because under pressure at 4-7 psi, oxygen is increased 300-600% within the plasma and is more easily delivered to every cell throughout the human body. We use 1.3-1.5 ATA (pressure) levels because research has shown to be the best treatment for neurocognitive conditions, as shown in the above picture.
Mild hyperbaric therapy refers to Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) administered at lower, safer pressures. It involves breathing in pure oxygen while inside a mild hyperbaric chamber, which is designed to simulate a slightly higher atmospheric pressure. This non-invasive therapy is the easiest way for our body to uptake oxygen to tissues and organs that are not able to absorb enough oxygen. It is shown to increase penetration of oxygen 400% deeper into our tissues and organs in comparison with our typical blood supply.
Other incredible features of this treatment is that it reduces inflammation, destroys bacteria and increases white blood cell/stem cell production. Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (mHBOT) creates substantial, expedited healing for acute and chronic Neurological conditions, Developmental Disorders (ADHD/Autism), Brain injury/Concussion, Autoimmune conditions, Lyme Disease, Migraines, Headaches, Musculoskeletal and athletic injuries, Athletic recovery, Post-surgical healing, Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Wellness and more. Reserach has proven that treatment is cumaltive and is recommended at 60-90 minutes over 40-80 treatments for optimal results. This may seem like a lot, but is essential for rebuilding infrastructure, cellular health and creating neuroplasticity.
Mild HBOT vs. Hospital Units:
While hard HBOT with 100% oxygen results in greater oxygen saturation in the tissues, mild HBOT has proven to be effective for many conditions. In fact, some clinical trials have shown little difference in clinical outcomes between mild HBOT and the more intensive hard HBOT. Additionally, mild HBOT poses no known safety risks related to fire or oxygen toxicity, making it a safer option. Moreover, it is a more affordable alternative to hospital-based treatments.
Benefits of HBOT:
Athletic Recovery: Many athletes use mild hyperbaric chambers to expedite their recovery time after injuries or intense workouts. The increased oxygenation in the body helps reduce inflammation and promotes healing, aiding in faster recovery.
Chronic Illness: Individuals with chronic illnesses like Lyme disease, fibromyalgia, and multiple sclerosis often turn to mild hyperbaric chambers to alleviate their symptoms. HBOT has been shown to effectively reduce inflammation and improve circulation, leading to pain relief and improved overall well-being.
Wound Healing: HBOT offers significant benefits for individuals with chronic wounds such as diabetic ulcers. It promotes wound healing by enhancing oxygen delivery to the tissues, stimulating the growth of new blood vessels, and boosting the immune response.
Anti-Aging and Increased Collagen Production: Mild hyperbaric chambers are also used for their potential anti-aging effects. HBOT has been shown to improve cellular function and reduce inflammation, which can contribute to healthier aging.
General Wellness: Many people incorporate mild hyperbaric chambers into their wellness routines to enhance their overall health and well-being. The therapy is believed to improve energy levels, promote better sleep, and support overall vitality.
Reduced Inflammation: HBOT can decrease inflammation by downregulating inflammatory cytokines and promiting antioxidant defenses, potentially reducing the risk of chronic diseases linked to inflammation.
Improved Stem Cell Function: HBOT has been shown to mobilize stem cells from the bone marrow, which can aid in tissue regeneration and repair.
Enhanced Cognitive Function: Studies suggest that HBOT may improve cognitive functions, which could be beneficial for aging-related cognitive decline and conditions related to an inflamed brain.
Support for Long Covid: In a randomized controlled trial, documented significant improvements in cognitive, psychiatric, fatigue, sleep, and pain symptoms among long Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID) patients who underwent hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT).

We have four options for using the chamber:
1) For Gold Members the chamber can be used as a core service, but it counts as "two credits" vs the normal "one credit". Silver and Bronze members get 10% off service options below but cannot use the HBOT for member credits.
2) For Non Members one 60 min session is $75 and a 90 minute session is $125
3) Package Options- if you require 40-60 dives for a chronic condition (5 days on and 2 days off is suggested) then we have package deals to reduce the cost vs. one off sessions.
4 pack session to be used within 30 days is $239 ($59.75 per 60 min session)
8 pack session to be used within 30 days is $399 ($49.87 per 60 min session)
40 pack session to be used within 60 days is $1,500 ($37.50 per 60 min session)
4) In Home Options- We have a laydown version of the grand dive available for monthly in home rental rates. We will set up the HBOT for $75 (within 10 miles of Aiken. If you are further than Aiken we will adjust delivery fee) and spend the time needed to fully explain how to use the HBOT on your own, in the comfort of your home.
